My price did not update
Open the app in your Shopify admin. The Dashboard is the health card and answers most cases without a support ticket:
- Last sync: when it ran, what triggered it and its outcome. Writes are made only after you approved the first-sync preview and while a plan is active; the card says when writes were suppressed and why (not approved, kill switch, no active plan, configuration changed since the preview).
- Kill switch: if it is ON, every write is stopped. Turn it off in Settings.
- Feed: if the gold feed reported an error, a zero rate or stale data, the run is aborted and your last prices stand (fail closed). This clears by itself when the feed recovers.
- Feed sanity: if a karat rate jumped more than your limit since the last accepted rate, the run stops; review the rates and use “Accept current rates” on the Dashboard.
- Needs attention: lists every variant the app skipped or held, with the reason — no karat, no gold weight, karat not served in your market, hidden karat, invalid metafield, held by the maximum-change rail (use “Accept new price”), price floor, plan limit, or a Shopify error.
- Currency: if your store currency differs from your market's currency, or the app could not read it, every write is held until they match. After you change your store currency the app holds every write until the next sync has re-read it.
- Small moves: a price is rewritten only when it moves by more than your change threshold (Settings).
- Variant metafields: Shopify does not notify apps when a variant's gold weight changes, so the change is picked up by the nightly sweep — or press “Sync now” on the Dashboard.
Shopify keeps the price that was current when a checkout was created. A customer who started checkout before a price change still pays the earlier price, even after the app has written the new one. This is standard Shopify behaviour, not a failed sync: new carts and checkouts get the new price.
Before you uninstall
To put back the prices your store had before the app's first write, use Preview & approval → “Restore original prices” before uninstalling. After uninstalling the app can no longer reach your store.
